Counselling is designated for individuals to process and explore their thoughts, feelings, emotions, and past trauma using a variety of evidence-based practices including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Exposure Therapy. This can be helpful for anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, trauma, difficult transitions in life, etc. Typically, meetings are weekly or bi-weekly.
Somatic Therapy and meditation sessions will be spent focusing on helping the client regulate their nervous system and gain a better understanding how their body processes emotions, past trauma, and anxiety. The goal is to let the body feel fully and completely without resistance by allowing the body to relax and release any stored trauma, negative emotions, negative belief patters, etc. In-person Somatic Therapy sessions are recommended because having a controlled, relaxed environment allows the client to connect to their body on a deeper level.
